Background information about 'Nifelheim (Re-Release)'

NIFELHEIM's self-titled debut album, first unleashed in 1995, stands as a testament to the raw, unyielding spirit of old-school black metal. Amidst a sea of bands adopting softer, keyboard-laden sounds, NIFELHEIM's release was a defiant proclamation, rejecting the trend and embracing their true primal essence. Tracks like "Black Curse," "Sodomizer," and "Satanic Sacrifice" are visceral attacks that grip the listener with aggressive riffs and barbarous drum patterns. The frantic, distorted solos interspersed throughout the album add an extra layer of chaos, while the vocalist's demonic shrieks invoke images of madness and fury.

Nearly three decades later, this ferocious masterpiece sees its rightful re-release. The new edition includes extensive interviews with band members Tyrant and Hellbutcher, shedding light on their journey from their inception to their latest work "Envoy Of Lucifer." Fans will delight in discovering unseen photographs and other rare materials in the accompanying booklet—a true treasure trove for aficionados of the genre.
